One hundred fifty years from 1867 to 2017 and what a milestone! Huntsburg Grange #2541 invites you to help celebrate the National Grange 150-Year Anniversary on Saturday, April 22 with FREE cake with famous Grange frosting at the Huntsburg Town Hall during our annual rummage sale. The one day event starts at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The National Grange was founded in 1867 as a national community organization with its roots in agriculture. Our members are given the opportunity to learn and grow to their full potential as citizens and leaders. The family is the base of the organization with full membership beginning at age 14. Women have been equal members since the inception of the Grange. We have a Junior Grange program for children age 5 to 14 that has helped the youngest members of the family learn about community values and citizenship for more than 100 years. Our Grange Youth program develops the leadership skills of our young adults and young married couples.
Faith, hope, charity, and fidelity are the basic lessons of local Granges. The Grange organization has four levels: Community, County or District, State, and National to ensure that the membership’s voice is heard at the appropriate place. Geauga’s community Granges are Hambden, Huntsburg, and Ledge and are members of the Geauga County Pomona Grange.
