Metzenbaum Sheltered Industries held a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at its newest program site, the MSI Discovery Center, on April 5. The Center is located at 14333 Kinsman Road in Burton. The Center opened in February and is a non-vocational program serving individuals with fragile medical needs.  The building features an accessible day activity room, therapy area, multi-sensory room, clinic and large changing area.  This program features a daily schedule of sensory and therapy goals as well as integrated community  activities.

The Discovery Center is staffed by direct support, nursing and therapy personnel who currently provide services to individuals from Geauga, Trumbull and Portage counties.  Program oversite is offered from an area program coordinator and manager.  The Center is the latest MSI program design in the Burton/Middlefield area.  Other area programs include work sites at W. High St., Geauga Industrial Park, Madison Rd., Sunny Acres School, Sunny Hope School and another non-vocational program located at the DDC Clinic.
