Grandkids on Safari in Chardon

By Colleen Lockhart

Kudos to the Geauga County Department on Aging for a great event on June 28, when they held a day for grandparents to bring their grandchildren to the Chardon Senior Center for a fun day together.

With more than 100 guests in attendance, the morning began with an exciting magic show by Magical Balloon Dude otherwise known as Travis Mettler. The show included animal balloons and at the end all the kids lined up for a balloon animal of their choice.  Magical Balloon Dude kept everyone, young and old, laughing with his magic tricks and balloon comedy.  He asked some of the kids in the audience to participate in the magic tricks, too.  He can be contacted at 440-251-7357 for a performance, so give him a call if you are having a party.

A hot dog picnic lunch was served including beans, potatoes, watermelon and popsicles. Then Jungle Terry arrived with a fun and educational show.  He brought a chinchilla, hedgehog, chicken, dove, turtles, snakes and spiders and shared names and stories about each one of them. He can bring his safari to you. Call him at 440-275-1331.
