Dec. 4, 2017 — The Village of Middlefield in partnership with University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center and Community Care Ambulance is launching Middlefield Means Health 2018, a fun, interactive community health and wellness initiative. The goal is to promote a healthier Middlefield by encouraging and supporting village residents in improving their personal wellness.
The free program will feature monthly Middlefield Means Health Days beginning Jan. 11, 2018 and running through Dec. 2018. Each session will offer Middlefield residents the opportunity for free preventive screenings and tests, one-on-one chats with UH health experts, hands-on lifesaving training and information on healthy habits and disease prevention.
Residents participating in the program will be entered in the in the year-long corporate and community Middlefield Means Health 2018 Challenge, which will pit area business teams against each other and the Middlefield Village team in a healthy competition. The challenge will include quarterly incentives and prizes at the end of the contest for the teams that improve their health the most as measured by metrics such as weight loss and improved cholesterol levels
