The CMS underwater robotics group is diving into their big project! Three of the group’s members (Owen V., Hailey H., and Michael M.) were hard at work recently, waterproofing motors with volunteer advisor Christine Schroeter. Thanks to an $890 grant from FirstEnergy, the group is working to build four underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) through the US Navy’s SeaPerch Program. Once the ROVs are completed, the group will work with the Geauga Park District to use them for water quality sampling. We can’t wait to see the entire project play out! Great work so far!
