“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2 This is the Bible verse the Rolling River Rampage theme is based on and was chosen for the Middlefield Methodist Church vacation Bible school held the week of
It takes many talented and willing hands to make a successful VBS. Three adult volunteer teachers worked with three different age groups. Leaders volunteered or crafts, music, snacks, games and media. An average of 30 children attended every evening.
The evening began and ended with 20 minutes of songs and later, simple, delicious snacks were served. The kids had fun making friendship bracelets, sun catchers, and sand art with pictures of mountains and crosses.
The Rolling River Rampage takes children on a white-water rafting adventure. Along the river, children discover that life with God is an adventure full of wonder and surprise. Music, exciting science, creative crafts, fun recreation, and memorable bible stories help kids know that God is always with them.
The last evening, friends and relatives were invited to the final music session to hear the new songs and to watch a video of pictures taken during the week. A picnic is planned on Aug. 26 at the pavilion on the church property just north of Mary Yoder’s Amish Kitchen.
