JES Student Opinion Featured on PBS Program

Our opinions matter! Every year at Jordak, the fourth graders watch the WVIZ/PBS ideastream® program Newsdepth and send in editorials to the program on a particular topic they discuss. The program then chooses a few responses from all received to feature on an upcoming program. On a recent program, Ivy K. had her opinion on promoting free rec and school sports featured as a response to the topic of “If you could write a large number of letters to the general public about an issue, what topic would you write about and why?” Ivy said, “I would promote free rec and school sports so families could enjoy the game and not worry about paying money. It would also allow families to buy better sport supplies. I myself play sports and it costs a lot of money just to sign up.” Great job Ivy!
