Weather phenomenon can be a little difficult to grasp, but thanks to a recent experiment, first graders now have a better understanding of how tornadoes can form. Our favorite science guy Mr. Claire Zurbuch, aka Mr. Z., visited all classes recently to have them do everyone’s favorite – “tornado in a bottle” experiment! Students swirled water in adjoining bottles to create a vortex, making it easier for air to come in and water to pour out, which then created a rotating tornado. Students were very excited to see the concept develop in front of them. Thanks Mr. Z for helping us learn.
