Geauga County Airport is home to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 5, chartered in 1954 and is a non-profit organization. Chapter members are aircraft builders, pilots and aviation enthusiasts of all ages. They operate a highly capable shop where members build, restore, and maintain aircraft. Geauga County Airport, 15421 Old State Road, Middlefield (44062) is the location of EAA aviation summer events to promote general aviation.
Pedal Plane Raffle tickets are available now until the last fly-in on Sept. 21 when the drawing will be held at noon. The custom built plane, built for ages 3 to 7, is made out of marine wood, moves by pedaling and steers by moving the control stick. Hundreds of hours are spent building the pedal plane to blue print and forming the material to make a pedal plane with a rotating propeller that gives the “Gee Bee R2” an authentic look.
