Dr. Augustine Kellis, founder and CEO of Kellis Eye & Laser Center, announced he is hosting a community celebration at his office on Saturday, Aug. 10 to commemorate his 25 years of practicing ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery in Chardon. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include giveaways, 40 percent off eyewear and complimentary balloon twisters, face painting, a photo booth and a food truck. It will also feature the complete line of eyewear from Ray-Ban and Fysh.

Dr. Augustine Kellis founded Kellis Eye Center in 1994. He opened his first solo ophthalmology practice specializing in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery and oculoplastic surgery on Center Street in Chardon. He has performed over 25,000 intraocular procedures and well over 100,000 eyelid and facial plastic surgical procedures. In 1999, he moved his practice to 150 Seventh Ave., Suite 100 and brought on optometrist Dawn Barkan, O.D. In 2009, Gene A. Johnson, M.D. joined the practice specializing in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery and oculoplastic surgery. In 2015, Julieta Ryder, M.D. joined the practice specializing in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery and aesthetic laser procedures.
