Don’t miss the thrilling, action-packed main grandstand events this year’s Great Geauga County fair has to offer. It begins Thursday with the KOI Drag Racing ATVs and Trucks at 7 p.m. with a class for everything and everyone. Eliminations at 7 p.m. with registration and practice starting at 5 p.m., track permitting. Classes are $10 with 100 percent payback to the winners. Diesel classes are $20 with 100 percent payback to the winners. General admission is $5 and box seats are $8. At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, watch the hot air balloon ascension.
Friday’s horse pulling contest begins at 6 p.m. for light weight 3,320 pounds and under. Scales open at 2 p.m. Paying 10 places plus hitch money. Saturday’s harness horse racing with live horses starts at 12:30 p.m.
Saturday night the demolition derby starts at 8:30 p.m. General admission is $8 and box seats are sold out. The driver’s purse money has increased to $5,000.
The Sunday Band-O-Rama at 1:30 p.m. is free and features Geauga’s high school bands.
Sunday’s truck and tractor pulls start at 6:30 p.m. General admission is $10 with pit and box seats $15. Classes include big rig semi’s, open diesel 4 x 4s, classic super stock tractors, street licensed semis and run what ya brung trucks.
On Labor Day, Broken Horn Rodeo takes place at 3 p.m. General admission is $10 and box seats are $12. This is a full-blown rodeo that includes bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, cowgirl barrel racing, steer wrestling and team roping.
