David Parker has served on the Fair Board for nine years, and held the office of vice president prior to being elected president this year, the first of a three-year term. “Although I’ve been enjoying the fair all of my life,” Parker said, “I did not become seriously involved until my children started 4-H in the 90s.”
Parker has served on a number of committees including safety, grounds, entertainment, and the upcoming bicentennial committee that is preparing for the 2022 celebration. He has been the director in charge of the poultry, hay and grain, and chicken flying departments and the popular rooster crowing competition.Parker is a lifelong Geauga County resident who grew up in Auburn Township and attended school in the Kenston school district.
“I would like to thank all of the directors and hard-working maintenance and office staff for their support and dedication to the Great Geauga County Fair,” he said.
