This is the fifth year for the Health and Wellness Fair and it gets bigger and better every year. The Geauga YMCA partners with University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center and FirstLight Homecare to put on this community-wide event Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. This year, 37 vendors will be offering free health screenings, free samples, and free information aimed at helping those 55 years and over to connect with businesses/services in their own backyard that can make the next chapters of life more engaging and active. UH Geauga will provide health screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, stroke risk assessments and balance. “Ask a Pharmacist” and “Ask a Doc” tables will be there to answer questions.
Living Well Massage will give free mini massages and do reflexology. Salty of Chardon will have information on the benefits of their salt caves. Achilles Running Shop will have a Podiatry resident at the table to answer questions. Clean Eatz of Mentor will provide information on their meal plan program and other food offerings, Verizon will have tips and tricks on both the Android and Iphone, and Mustard Seed Art Studio will tell about their upcoming classes. Dr. Cherie Lechner-Lunato, Chiropractor, will have samples of a liquid natural collagen HA matrix that improves joint mobility and provides youthful looking skin. She will also have information on functional medicine and other chiropractic benefits. Mary Kay and Arbonne will have their latest products, Holly’s Hearing will do free hearing screenings and Terry’s Shoes will have samples of shoes and orthotics. Sages Apples donated 250 apples to give out and Heinen’s will offer superfood snack samples.
