On Feb. 1, JDs Middlefield Nutrition owners Jeremy and Jennifer Davis invited the community to help them celebrate their first birthday at 14960 South State in Middlefield.

This first year has seen a visit from the BBB (Better Business Bureau), who gave them an A minus rating, only because they are a new business. It will soon become A plus.

The idea of starting a health and wellness business came about when Jeremy, a professional truck driver, passed out behind the wheel. At over 400 pounds and having recently lost his father to a heart attack, both Jeremy and Jennifer made the decision to change their lifestyle so they would live a longer, healthier life and be here for their 13 children. Jeremy has lost 217 pounds and Jennifer lost 117 pounds.

Middlefield Nutrition’s customers range from young to old, and include Amish. Along with their daily traffic, students from Cardinal stop after school, workers go in during shift changes and lunch time, making those their busiest times.

As a nurse, Jennifer evaluates an individual and make recommendations for lifestyle changes while taking age and other contributing factors into consideration.

The Davis motto is “slow and steady wins the race” from the story of the tortoise and the hare. The human body needs time to adjust to a change in habits and getting healthy is 80 percent nutrition and 20 percent exercise.

Jeremy and Jennifer have helped the community by collecting over 200 boxes of cereal for local food pantries, toys for tots, and hats and gloves. They have taught classes at Middlefield Senior Center, Middlefield Library, Mercury Plastics and several trucking companies. They are available for health and wellness coaching, meal replacement, nutrition, cardio workshops, cardio education classes. They offer cardio drumming, line dancing class, shake and paint parties and have opened a second store in Kirtland, across from the high school.

JDs is a Herbalife independent distributor. Herbalife, coincidentally, also celebrated a Feb. 1 birthday, but theirs was number 40. The product is convenient, fast, and easy.

For details, call 440-728-8786 or visit the store Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and, beginning March 1, Sundays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
