In January, East Geauga Kiwanis (EGK) was awarded $2,500 from the Middlefield Walmart Giving Grant, a grant given to local organizations that create positive impacts within their community. East Geauga Kiwanis was chosen for this grant because of their efforts to help families in the community. EGK Secretary Judy Breedlove presented a $2,500 check to Judi Maloney, President of Claridon Community Helps. This donation will help benefit their lunch program, a program that combats food insecurity for families in the community. A portion of the money has already been used to feed students during the Covid-19 school closure and the rest of the grant money will help fund lunches throughout the summer for families in need.
