Attention Troy Township Seniors
The Troy Township Trustees are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the 2020 Troy Senior Trash Pick-Up Days on July 22 and 23.
Please have items outside home or garage Tuesday, July 21, the evening before the pick-up. Sign up is EASY. HERE’S HOW:
First, register and complete the trash pick-up intake with the Geauga County Department on Aging at 440-279-2130 by Monday, July 20 by 4:30 p.m., or earlier. Please note, to receive trash pick-up assistance, you must be 60 years of age or older and live in Troy Township.
What Troy Township will take: Appliances, refrigerators will be accepted without Freon, car batteries, lawn mowers, and tires on or off the rim – 4 per load. Wood, pipe or other large items should be reduced to 6 feet length or less. Small items must be bagged, boxed, or bundled – no LOOSE materials will be collected.
Please note the following guidelines: To prevent possible bed bug transferal (or other pest), all mattresses, couches and upholstered furniture MUST be wrapped in plastic and taped securely or they will not be taken.
What Troy Township will not take: construction/remodeling debris, hazardous materials (household chemicals, paint, oil, etc.), rocks, yard waste, or household garbage. Residents are reminded that newspapers, magazines and cardboard are recyclable. Separate them out for recycling at a later date. Residents are also asked not to bring items that can easily be disposed of in the resident’s weekly curbside pickup.
The Troy Township road crew and the Department on Aging employees cannot enter homes. All refuse items must be outside by garages, out buildings or in the driveway. Please DO NOT leave items by curbside.
Strict limit to 10 household items per home, please. For more information and to register for the pick-up, call the Department on Aging weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 440-279-2130.
