July1 thru Aug. 30: The Depot 14797 S. State Ave., Middlefield (44062) is now open. It may be closed occasionally so call ahead. 440-632-0400.

July 6: Burton Public Library 14588 W. Park St., Burton opens. Limit of 20 patrons on the first floor. Curbside pickup available by calling 440-834-4466. Virtual classes listed on library calendar. Hours of service may vary.

July 7: Geauga County Public Library. All locations reopened their buildings for limited services.Current hours for the next phase of reopening, which includes ONLY walk-through browsing and two hour computer use are by appointment. Call 440-286-6811.

July 17: Geauga Faith Rescue Mission Dinner. 5 to 7 p.m. Parkman Congregational Church, 18265 Madison Road, Parkman every third Friday of the month for drive through pick up.

July 22: Wildcrafting Herbs & Leaves. 6:30 p.m. His Daughter, 14982 S. State Ave., Middlefield (44062). Class fee $25. Held outdoors. Call 440-632-8053 to register.

Aug. 5: Help Me Learn Day. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.Job & Family Services, 12480 Ravenwood Dr., Chardon (44024). Back to school event for low income Geauga County children, curbside pick-up only. I.D. required.

Aug. 7, 8, 9: Free Tax Week-End. During the Ohio sales tax holiday, the state sales and use tax of 5.75 percent will be waived on certain purchases.

Aug. 9: Outdoor Worship and Picnic. 11 a.m. Parkman Congregational Church, 18265 Madison Road, Parkman. 440-548-4829.

Aug. 12: Geauga County Fair, 14373 N. Cheshire, Burton (44021).  Entry deadline by 4 p.m.

Aug. 28: Middlefield Chamber Golf Outing. 7:30 a.m. Rolling Green Golf Course, 15900 Mayfield Road, Huntsburg (44046). Lynnette at  mccinfo@middlefieldcc.com to register to play, sponsor a hole or volunteer to help.

Sept. 3 thru 7: Geauga County Fair Show Cancellations. Due to COVID-19, the following open shows are cancelled: Dept. 8 – Swine, Dept. 9 – Poultry, Dept. 10 – Rabbits. No trailer-in permitted for Dept. 1 – miniature horses, Dept. 3 – Haflinger/pony hitch and Dept. 25 – Donkeys and mules.
