Middlefield ~ The American Cancer Society is busy planning upcoming events to raise funds to battle cancer. On Saturday March 10, the First United Methodist Church, 14999 S. State Ave. in Middlefield will host a benefit dinner, silent auction and talent show. The dinner will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., include glazed ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans, deserts and beverages. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12. A talent show will entertain from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A free will offering will be accepted.

Relay for Life will take place in Middlefield on May 19 and 20 from 12 p.m. to 8 a.m. at Cardinal High School. Join a team to help raise funds and awareness to fight cancer. The next Relay for Life meeting will be at the LightHouse United Methodist Church on 14780 Mayfield Road, East Claridon, March 29 at 7 p.m. Check future dates, times of events and meetings at www.RelayForLife.org/Middlefield.

The Sheauga Quilters, a historic artisan group that supports Century Village Museum, donated $1,200 to the museum to help offset some of the costs and fees associated with hosting the weeklong program.The Sheauga Quilters draw members from across Geauga County. This donation captures the essence of the community involvement that created the Ohio Chautauqua project and movement.

Course: Begins at Cardinal High School & continues down Button Ave to Tare Creek Parkway, loops around & comes back the same Way. Race will finish with one lap on the track.
